Diary:
Again returning to August days of yore, we had an awesome time at TT's for our homecoming to boston and the kick-off of a new year of music.

After an initial damper in the evening of being asked by the doorwoman, as I was lugging in equipment, if I was the girlfriend of someone in a band and then her being uppity when I calmly explained that I was in fact 1/2 of the headliner, the rest of evening was fairly smooth sailing. Surrogate Superstar, a band comprised of a hodepodge of berkley school members, did their thing to a responsive crowd and then went their merry way (it's cool...).

Thrift Store Cowboys, from Texas, went MIA somewhere in the middle of night, leaving Fancy Trash to pick up the pieces which they did valliantly. Super nice guys, great neil young/wilco infused stuff (I heart trading CDs).

We went on after a healthy dose of schmoozing and had our first real experience with people in the crowd knowing (and singing!) our songs which was at first confusing but ultimately awesome (thank you to our loyal BU and "people we love" crowd...)

TT's quickly became one of our favorite places to play as the sound guy was nice and understanding, the bartender liked us and enjoyed the tunes, the stage is comfy, and doorgirls are easily forgotten.

peace,

~Maura
